How true it is!!

An unknown Confederate soldier wrote the following Prayer depicting his attitude towards life.

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve;
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health, that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy;
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise
of men;
I was given weakness, that I might feel the
need of God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life;
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for-but everything
I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers
were answered.
I am among all men, most richly blessed.

Can't agree more! [:)]

A rambling note

Its a pretty nice weather here.
I had a good start of my day and kept myself busying in reading novel all through the day.Lately I have started "Freedom at Midnight" by Dominique Lappierre and Larry Collins.Quite a good novel till page and I hope its going to be worth reading.
And yeah did I tell you that I have become a Coffee freak from past few days?
Well, its not like that I was not but yeah the case was I didn't like to have it so often but now the case is totally opposite.I just can't live up my day without it.
One more thing....I just love to have it at CCD and that too at 10.30pm....[:P]
Well, time to get back to my dear book. She is waiting for me, you know!

Till time,
Ciao!

WAITING

WAITING

I stay my haste, I make delays,
For what avails this eager pace?
I stand amid the eternal ways
And what is mine shall know my face.

Asleep, awake, by night or day,
The friends I seek are seeking me;
No wind can drive my bark astray,
Nor change the tide of destiny.

What matter if I stand alone?
I wait with joy the coming years;
My heart shall reap where it hath sown,
And garner up its fruit of tears.

The waters know their own, and draw
The brook that springs in yonder heights;
So flows the good with equal law
Unto the soul of pure delights.

The stars come nightly to the sky;
The tidal wave comes to the sea;
Nor time, nor space, nor deep, nor high,
Can keep my own away from me.

John Burroughs

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

For the past few days, I am conversing a lot more often with some of my friends and the talks are nothing special but just usual-go-on-kind of talks.
One reason could be a few months more for my graduation.All my close buddies, would moseyed through their individual ways of life and will get scattered for varied reasons.This mere feeling of getting away from them brings shiver in my body.But again, life's like that only.
But sometimes, I wonder how casually we use this word 'Friend'? Its so natural for us to call anybody as our friend even if we have talked to that person only for once.
How do you seggregate the 'friends' who can really act as a shoulder to lean on from the ones who won't even answer your calls when you need them the most? The term 'friend' is being used pretty loosely.I mean, you enjoy talking to someone thats ok but what really counts for me is how much can I trust the person. I may not make a ton of friends that way but I know that the ones I have made, I can trust them throughout my life.
I think "making friends" isn't just about getting people to commit to you, its also about your commitment levels to them. If I care for a person, I do expect the same from the other person also. Its always about mutual understanding between two people.
I personally feel that honesty is the most important ingrediant in any relationship. If you are actually pals with someone, let that person know, if you are not, let him/her know that too.One would always be comfortable with whom one is able to connect.
And one more thing, if you feel something more other than friendship for someone, clarify it on the firstly basis.Few years down the lane, you should not have regret for not saying the thing you wanted to say.Afterall you never know, whats written there in your account!

And here the cliche is Never never compromise on your friends!

And ya, yet again I assay my aught,

Never forget....
A FRIEND is one,
who can UNDERSTAND your PAST,
BELIEVE in your FUTURE,
and ACCEPTS your TODAY.

Guess, its high time to get back to my offlate interest.[:P]

You will love this!

Hey all!
I am back here in this world of blog after a long long time and the reason is I was desperate to write something(read anything) and so here I am.

I always enjoy reading poems and have tried my hands too in this field and for the past few days I am getting more inclined towards this love of mine i.e. reading and writing poems.

I always feel that only poems have that magic in their words that they can fill you with excitement, enthusiasm and thrill.Poems are my best companions. Whenever, I feel low and discouraged, they are the one who helped me out from that situation. The way one plays with the words while writing a verse excites me a lot and it gives immense satisfaction and encouragement and also a feeling that yes I have that capability in me that I can reach to that ultimate zenith and achieve whatever I want in my life.
Its nothing but the magic of those beautiful words that are binded together to make an ultimate piece of art.

Just a few days back, I read this poem.

After every solitary night,
The sun will shine bright.
All that happens is for your good,
So never ceases to give a try
For behind every dark cloud,
There is a highlighted sky!

Don't stop these tears from falling
And many will reach to wipe your sigh
In the area of pain, hearts merge
And compassion reveals it true worth
Hope always ripens into one's well being
Isn't autumn followed by spring?

Nothing great in that routine
Unless you part how will you miss?
True love strikes, when not before this eye
And as you meet, the joy will multiply.

One may swim the bat and
Still lose the game, but
Beneath the loss, there may be some gain
Only when you fall, you learn to stand
And the victory becomes truly divine.

Don't curse troubles as it teaches to pray
And once you are through you know,
There's a GOD and great is his way!

So again I repeat,
Whatever happens is for your benefit.
It's the reality of life, you can't deny
For a new soul is born,
Only when the other bids GOODBYE.

It is simply beautiful!!
Isn't it???

More than a game.

Just 3 more days to go and the much awaited ball will start rolling on June 9 in Munich with the opening match between Germany and Costa Rica. The biggest soccer event, FIFA World Cup, may just a game for some but for some football is far more than just another game.
Be it a land of Pele, Brazil or Maradona's land, Argentina or the town of downward glances football is just not a game either.
For the Marxist philosopher Janus Mazursky,"Football is a religion in Brazil, that unifies a nation ravaged by many ills." For the average Brazilians the national football players are gods and the mood of the nation rests on the performance of their star players.When it comes to soccer, Brazilians stand united despite its deep-seated equality problems and poverty, the government corruption scandals,the low salaries and unemployment. Despite of all these problems, it continues to be the world leader in football.
During the world cup, big screens will be erected in street corners and pubs, while offices will close four hours before the start of every match Brazil plays. The Sub-way Metro plans to increase the frequency of trains during that period to enable people to reach their destination.
Surely, for the next few weeks the land of Pele and Samba will run high on patriotism and festivity.

Which side you belong to?

Argentina will play against IvoryCoast on June 10 in Hamburg. Well, this will not be a must-see world cup match for most of the Germans, but in the small town of Herzogenaurach, a decades-old feud will be played out on the pitch when they meet on June 10.
This small town, known as the " town of downward glances" is a home of two famous sportswear makers, Adidas and Puma. Argentina is sponsered by Adidas while IvoryCoast is sponsered by Puma and here at this place-bitter rivals founded by two brothers who fell out almost 60 years ago and never made up.
Strangely enough, here in Herzogenaurach, the shoes you wear are the statement of which side you belong to.
For decades, life in the town has been defined by the two sports wear brands, making some places no go areas for people with the "wrong" shoes. And can you imagine, so strict is the line that locals claim even marriages between Adidas and Puma families were rare until the 1970s!
Isn't it strange?

I am sure you get the reason why its not just another game.
Its just more than a game.

The sands of time...

Yeah, I am almost a half engineer now(results yet to come)! One and a half years more to go and I'll be a complete engineer.Never had an idea that the sands of time would move so fast and as I stroll down memory lane, I found that things have really changed, my way of taking things, my attitude towards life, towards people....almost everything.That farewell party , those starting days of my college, these are still vivid like the fresh carpet of lilac.There came situations which were a deja vu for me, for which I felt that this has happened before.
I have made F.R.I.E.N.D.S here, yes friends for life. I have seen the highs of frustration and lows in morale...:-D But, have learnt how to cope with it. I have made friends here who taught me to be happy, no matter what. Friends who taught me to handle situations which can be really tricky. Friends who help me in all matters. Friends who encourage me to do what I love. I just hope I stand upto their expectations. But apart from all this, there is also one thing that I have learnt here....You can't choose somebody to be your friend.We interact with many people on the day-to-day basis.We find some interesting and some not.Everytime we talk to them(interesting one) we get to know a fraction more about them and if our inclination towards different things is at the same angle then a natural liking for each other develops there. On the other hand, if one desperately wants someone to be one's friend then there may be the case that he/she doesn't care for you. Then, what??
We have heard of this surely," It is not the quantity that matters, it is the quality that matters." One may have hundreds of friends quantitavely but only two or three qualitatively and they are your real true friends. I am lucky that I have got some of those special friends here only.Knock the wood.
The other thing which I got to know lately is that start caring for those who care for you and not for those whom you care.You should care a person whom you like but it may be possible that at the end of the day you may lose that person who cares for you.
I have realised all these things lately...:-) Till now I have some beautiful memories in my life account to cherish them without paying any interest and more are waiting to come in my account, hopefully!
And as it goes

It seems everything has changed in a blink of eye,
But more to go as time flies by.

Choice is ours

You plan to go out with your friends, an old sake calls you and asks you to fix up a meeting in the evening;you clench your fists. A colleague takes credit for your ideas;you feel cheated. You get stuck in the traffic; you start loosing your temper. You call your girlfriend to tell her you are stuck at a meeting; she bangs the phone down on you and you go red with rage.....The list is endless; the common factor is anger.

The more complicated your life gets; the more people you interact with on a daily basis, the more incidents occur that can irritate, annoy, incense, madden, infuriate, and enrage. Anger and its cousins are permanent residents of your emotional landscape.

What's the basic reason behind all these known and common reactions? The reason is people are not getting what they want; things are not in their control.

Anger is dangerous. This can devastate lives, destroy relationships, disrupt work, cloud effective thinking, and ruin futures. This can put you in depression and that depression may lead you to take any haste and dangerous step which can ruin your life and other's lives who are related to you in someway or the other.

Its not that you do not want to do anything with your anger by giving lame excuses like "I know, this is not good but still I have no control over this".But just saying this won't do anything. You need to put efforts to get rid of this or to have a good control over yourself so that you can face any facer patiently.

A little effort and self-control can make this powerfull emotion powerless. If things are going out of way and you are not in a position to grab your hands to control the situation, then the only option left is to have patience.

For some, anger fuels their blazing performance. If we bottle it up, we smoulder and erupt, it may engulf us. The choice is ours, use it as a source of change, accept it as a course corrector and you will make it powerfully powerless.
